The Eye Institute (TEI), in conjunction with Temple Health, will host a series of “Real World Diabetes” workshops throughout March and April, 2025, for those who want to learn more about managing their diabetes.
According to the American Diabetes Association, diabetes is a chronic condition in which the body doesn’t produce enough insulin or can’t use it effectively, leading to high blood sugar levels and potential complications.
These free educational programs, led by a certified diabetes care and education specialist from Temple Health, will teach attendees what they need to know about life with diabetes.
Health care professionals will be on hand to discuss medications and how diabetes affects an individual’s body, including vision, hearing, and lab work. Optional HbA1c, weight, blood pressure and hearing screenings will also be available at no cost.
Sessions will be held the following Mondays:
Each workshop will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at TEI, 1200 West Godfrey Ave. in Philadelphia.
