Do you want to learn more about managing your diabetes? The Eye Institute (TEI) will host “Real World Diabetes,” a series of free workshops, starting Monday, Sept. 23, 2024, and running for eight weeks.
This free educational program, led by certified diabetes care and education specialist Lindsay Verano, MPH, RD, LDN, CDCES, from the Temple University Diabetes Program, will teach attendees what they need to know about life with diabetes. In addition, the Salus at Drexel University team helping lead the series includes Dr. Lindsay Bondurant director of the Pennsylvania Ear Institute, Dr. Erin Draper; Jacalyn Harris, MPO, CPO/L; Jamie Maffit, MS, COMS, CLVT; Cara Orr, PA-C; and Julie Quinlan, MPO, MS, CPO, ATC, FAAOP.
Healthcare professionals will be available to discuss medications and answer questions about how diabetes affects one’s body, including vision and hearing screenings and lab work.
Optional HvA1c, weight, blood pressure, and hearing screenings will also be available at no cost.

All sessions will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at The Eye Institute, Salus at Drexel University, 1200 West Godfrey Ave., Philadelphia, 19141. Please note that this is a series and attendance at each session is necessary.
