Audiology Awareness Month

October is Audiology Awareness Month which is dedicated to raising awareness for audiology and the value of the audiologist in hearing and balance care. At the Pennsylvania Ear Institute (PEI), faculty and students are committed to hearing loss prevention, offering a comprehensive array of services related to evaluation and rehabilitation.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), more than 40 million adults in the U.S. have some degree of hearing loss. Hearing loss is the third most common chronic physical condition in the United States, and is more prevalent than diabetes or cancer.

Unfortunately, the average amount of time a person with hearing loss wait to seek treatment after noticing a problem is around seven years. In that time, hearing can not only worsen but can cause a variety of health and psychological problems such as cognitive impairment and depression.

In honor of Audiology Awareness Month PEI is offering a special hearing event. Book your appointment October 18-22, 2021 to receive:

  • Complimentary telehealth or in-person consultation.
  • Free demonstration of the latest technology.
  • 10% off a pair of premium or advance hearing devices.

For more information or to schedule an appointment for this special promotion, call 215-392-2880.
