Brianna Brim Appointed Director of the Occupational Therapy Institute

Brianna BrimBrianna Brim, MOT, OTR/L, CPAM, CLIPP has been appointed as director of the Occupational Therapy Institute (OTI), the clinical facility for the Department of Occupational Therapy which recently opened for patient care. Located in the West Oak Lane section of Philadelphia within The Eye Institute, OTI is Salus University’s newest clinical facility, joining The Eye InstitutePennsylvania Ear Institute and Speech-Language Institute. 

Brianna Brim, a full-time faculty member in the OT Department, joined Salus in 2015 as the academic fieldwork coordinator and instructor in Occupational Therapy. An active member of the Pennsylvania Occupational Therapy Association, Brim brings to the OTI a unique blend of clinical expertise, legislative and advocacy leadership, interprofessional education, and a strong record of scholarship and student mentorship. 

She has been working on the development of OTI since January 2021, along with several other OT core faculty members and is proud to take on additional responsibility to support the clinical facility. “I am most excited to see the clinic grow in client care and student learning opportunities. We have a strong foundation as a program, and this clinic only strengthens our strong record,” said Brim. In addition to administrative responsibilities and client care, Brim will be focusing attention to locating additional funding sources to support pro-bono patient care and expanding community partnerships. She officially begins her new position on July 1st. 

OTI provides occupational therapy services while providing a valuable clinical experience to graduate students in the Department of Occupational Therapy. The clinical facility offers full pediatric and adult assessments and screenings with individual and group intervention sessions to promote increased independence in activities associated with daily living, including feeding, bathing, dressing, household management, education, play and social participation and supports for families and caregivers/care-partners. There will be no charge for services, and both in-person and telehealth appointments are available by request.
