SLI Welcomes Eileen Hunsaker as Director of Clinical Education

eileen hunsakerThe Speech-Language Institute (SLI) of Salus University welcomes Eileen Hunsaker, MS, CCC-SLP as the director of Clinical Education.

Hunsaker earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Brigham Young University and her Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Utah. Hunsaker has written numerous journal articles, and has participated in a variety of presentations.

As director, she will guide the day-to-day management of SLI including clinical operations, speech-language clinical education and patient care.

With more than 25 years of experience as a clinical speech-language pathologist and educational professional, her area of expertise is in the acute rehabilitation of adults post CVA (stroke) and Traumatic Brain Injury. Most recently, she was an assistant professor at the New York Medical College, Department of Speech and Language Pathology. She previously served as clinical assistant professor at Midwestern University, Glendale, Arizona, and assistant professor/Aphasia Center Coordinator at MGH Institute of Health Professions, Boston, Massachusetts.

She also specializes in Interprofessional Education (IPE) and the use of simulation in the education of healthcare professionals and looks forward to continuing her work in this area.
