New Assistant Vice President of Clinical Operations

Chaitali BaviskarSalus University Health has named Chaitali Baviskar the new assistant vice president for Clinical Operations.

In her new position, Baviskar will serve as the chief operating officer responsible for the efficient and effective management of the University’s clinical sites while ensuring the highest standards of patient care in conjunction with the educational experience of its students.

Current Salus clinical sites include The Eye Institute (TEI) and its four satellite locations, the Pennsylvania Ear Institute (PEI), and the Speech-Language Institute (SLI).

“I am excited to join the Salus team,” Baviskar said. “I believe this role offers me many great opportunities to try new things, as well as develop my existing skills.”

Prior to joining Salus University Health, Baviskar worked at Ryan-NENA Community Health Center in New York City as deputy director. Some of her responsibilities included overseeing operations for the facility that had 40,000 visits annually, coordinating clinical services with the centers’ main hospital and other healthcare organizations, and overall supervision of staff and management.

Baviskar will work alongside John Gaal, vice president of Clinical Operations. “We’re all very excited to have Chaitali with us,”he said. “She brings a lot of experience working with doctors, managers, and support staff to provide high quality care to patients.”

Before her position at Ryan-NENA, she was responsible for the management of three multi-specialty clinics in the Brooklyn Hospital Center system. Her experience prior to that was at the George Washington University Hospital, serving as a liaison between the hospital and medical group and their high-profile patients and other dignitaries.

Baviskar graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Sociology and earned her Master of Health Service Administration degree from The George Washington University. She is also a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

As she begins her first week on the job, Baviskar said she “looks forward to meeting the entire Salus family.”
