The Eye Institute (TEI) of Salus University welcomes Dr. Meltzer as a provider in primary care services.
Dr. Meltzer received a Bachelor of Science degree from Allegheny University of Health Sciences in Philadelphia in 1998. Four years later, he received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry (PCO). After receiving his Doctor of Optometry, he completed a primary care residency with Northeastern State College of Optometry in Tahlequah, Okla.
Since receiving his doctor of optometry degree, he served in the army working abroad as a division optometrist in Baumholder, Germany and Baghdad, Iraq. Upon his return to the United States, Dr. Meltzer served as chief of optometry at several different medical centers, most recently the Keller Army Community Hospital in West Point, N.Y.
Throughout his time in the army, Dr. Meltzer received countless awards – including the Army Good Conduct Award, Meritorious Service Award, three Army Achievement Medals, and much more.
