The fourth – and newest – location of The Eye Institute (TEI) of Salus University, located in Norristown, Pa. is celebrating its second anniversary.
In partnership with Delaware Valley Community Health, Inc. (DVCH), the Norristown site’s innate goal is to provide comprehensive vision care to patients in Montgomery County.
Located inside DVCH’s Norristown Regional Health Center, the satellite offers primary eye care services for both adults and children.
Throughout the Norristown satellite’s second year in existence, the number of patients have increased by 40% (reaching 1,670 in comparison to 1,270 in 2017).
A lot of that success stems from the hard work of Dr. Luis Trujillo, the main provider for the Norristown satellite.
Appointed to this position almost a year ago, Dr. Trujillo sees patients three days a week with the help of fourth year Salus University Pennsylvania College of Optometry student interns.
“This clinic has truly excelled since Dr. Trujillo took over his role as the primary optometrist here,” said John Gaal, vice president of Clinical Operations. “The clinic is seeing more patients than ever before and our students are getting an outstanding experience being a part of the great care provided to the Norristown Regional Health Center patients.”
