The Pennsylvania Ear Institute (PEI) recently welcomed Dr. Amanda Ayars as a staff audiologist.
In her role, she will provide comprehensive hearing and balance care for patients and oversee Salus University’s Osborne College of Audiology students when they are seeing patients at PEI.
“I have a real passion for helping my patients reconnect to the life they lost as their hearing decreased,” she said. “I'm very excited to help as many patients as I can and to teach the next generation of audiologists how to do the same.”
Dr. Ayars earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Texas Tech University (TTU) and her Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences as well as her Doctor of Audiology degree from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC). During her time at TTU, she worked as an audiology technician, where she was responsible for newborn and infant hearing screenings.
Prior to joining the PEI staff, Dr. Ayars worked as an audiologist for an ENT and allergy practice in Delaware for several years. Along with helping new patients, she’s also looking forward to learning from her PEI colleagues.
“I love learning,” she said. “I can't wait to soak in the knowledge and experiences all my colleagues have to share.”
