Dr. Stanley Hatch Named Chief of Pediatrics

The Eye Institute (TEI) of Salus University recently named Dr. Stanley Hatch as chief of the Pediatric/Binocular Vision Service.

In his new role, Dr. Hatch will manage all pediatric and binocular vision care as well as oversee the clinical experience of Salus University Pennsylvania College of Optometry (PCO) student interns and residents.

“We are truly delighted and honored that Dr. Hatch has joined TEI,” said Dr. Melissa Trego, dean of PCO. “We look forward to his contributions in his new role.”

Dr. Hatch earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from St. Lawrence University in New York and his Doctor of Optometry degree with honors from Michigan College of Optometry, Ferris State University.

Upon completing his Pediatric/Binocular Vision Residency at TEI in 1991, Dr. Hatch went on to earn a Master of Public Health degree from Harvard University. Years later he joined the Salus University staff as an assistant professor in the College of Health Sciences in 2009.

Prior to joining TEI, Dr. Hatch served as an associate optometrist at Eye Care for the Adirondacks in New York, where he provided primary and pediatric eye care, low vision eye care and co-management of surgical cases.

With more than 25 years in the field of optometry, Dr. Hatch’s work has been published in more than two dozen publications, literature reviews, research studies, and presentations.
