The Eye Institute’s (TEI) Spring Community Class Series wrapped up with its final presentation on Thursday, June 8 from Mr. Bob Serianni, director of the Speech-Language Institute of Salus University. Mr. Serianni’ s presentation “Speech, Language and Cognitive Issues in An Aging Population” included an overview of possible changes in speech, language, cognition and swallowing as individuals age.
He also discussed how a speech-language pathologist can assist those experiencing these changes and stressed the importance of early detection and intervention.
TEI continually hosts community classes throughout the Philadelphia area and the surrounding suburbs. Be sure to check out the events calendar to see what’s happening in the community.
