PEI Director Presents at Annual Conference for PA School Nurses

Recently, Dr. Lindsay Bondurant, pediatric audiologist and director of the Pennsylvania Ear Institute (PEI), was invited to speak at the 2017 Pennsylvania Association of School Nurses and Practitioners’ (PASNAP) annual conference in State College, Pa.

In her presentation entitled, “Hear to provide opportunities: Identifying and managing school-age children with hearing loss,” she spoke about the impact of hearing loss in school-age children, along with strategies for effective screening and management programs. She also discussed how to interpret audiologists’ reports and stressed the importance of effective communication between a multidisciplinary team when assisting children with hearing loss.

The annual PASNAP conference is attended by certified school nurses and school nurse practitioners throughout Pennsylvania. It is an opportunity for PASNAP members to network and learn about various topics focused on increasing the effectiveness of their profession.
