Challenges in the Diagnosis and Treatment of Retinal Vasculitis
Dr. Jessica Ackert will discuss challenges in the diagnosis and treatment of retinal vasculitis. Dr. Ackert is currently a medical director of safety at GlaxoSmithKline. She was previously an assistant professor in the department of Ophthalmology at Drexel College of Medicine and the Mount Sinai Medical Center. She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from New York University School of Medicine.
Dr. Amanda Pallister: What Lies Beneath? A Case of Peripapillary Subretinal Neovascular Membrane
Dr. Amanda Pallister’s course will detail a case of peripapillary subretinal neovascular membrane which was evident upon clinical examination in a ninety-two year old African American male at The Eye Institute of Salus University. The differential diagnoses will be investigated and the ancillary testing leading to diagnoses will be presented. Dr. Pallister earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from Salus University Pennsylvania College of Optometry, and is currently a primary care resident at The Eye Institute.
Dr. Mae Lynn Niehaus: Systemic Medications and Associated Ocular Complications
Dr. Mae Lynn Niehaus will discuss systemic medications and associated ocular complications. Dr. Niehaus earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from Salus University Pennsylvania College of Optometry, and is currently a primary care resident at The Eye Institute.
These sessions are open to local eye care providers at no charge. COPE approval has been submitted for these sessions. All sessions will be held in the Toland Classroom on the upper level of The Eye Institute from 7:30 a.m. - 8:45 a.m. For your convenience, please use the Spencer Avenue staff and student parking lot and entrance.
