Hand Helpers (10/6/2021 - 10/27/2021)
Wednesdays, 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
- Hand helpers is a free weekly virtual class to help develop skills needed for handwriting, drawing, fastening clothing and self-feeding for preschool and kindergarten-aged children.
- All skill and ability levels welcome
- Additional at-home activities provided
- Learn how to use household items for fun, interactive activities to improve these important skills
*Parental supervision recommended*
Virtual Summer Camp 2021 (7/5/2021 - 8/9/2021)
- Join us for our virtual summer camp, starting July 5th! We'll provide one daily activity, five days per week, centered around fun themes to support children in obtaining and strengthening skills they will use in school. Resources will be posted each Monday in our News & Events.
Online Safety and Avoiding Internet/Phone Scams (6/10/2021)
- In this class, faculty and students from the Occupational Therapy Institute will share practical strategies and tips to increase your safety online. Participants will learn how to protect themselves and avoid falling victim to internet and telephone scammers. Discussion with a question-and-answer session will follow the presentation.
How to Improve Your Sleep Habits (6/3/2021)
- In this class, participants will learn practical solutions to improve sleep habits for a healthier routine. Faculty and students from the Occupational Therapy Institute will discuss the vital role sleep plays and how to attain it in this unprecedented time. Presentation will be followed up with a question-and-answer session to address ways to have a healthier sleep routine.
Handwriting Club (May - June)
- The Occupational Therapy Institute (OTI) of Salus University is offering a free 4-week Handwriting Club for children in kindergarten through second grade! Handwriting is an essential skill in children’s development. This club aims to improve children’s handwriting legibility by utilizing concepts from the Size Matters Handwriting Program (SMHP). Mighty Movers - Gross Motor Class for Preschoolers (4/19/2021 - 5/5/2021)
- Gross motor skills require whole body movements and involve the large muscles of the body to help children complete everyday tasks. This free 3-week class will be offered virtually twice a week for 30 minutes each to get your little ones engaged! Handouts will be provided to encourage skill development at home.
