Dr. Siva Meiyeppen is a graduate of the University of British Columbia and the Illinois College of Optometry. She completed a residency in Pediatrics and Binocular Vision at The Eye Institute of Salus University. After practicing primary care in private practice in Canada after residency, she returned to Salus University as faculty in the Pediatrics and Binocular Vision Department.
Dr. Meiyeppen is currently an Assistant Professor at The Eye Institute, where she works alongside third and fourth year optometry students and our Pediatric residents in our Pediatrics Department. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. In addition to her clinical patient care responsibilities, she also teaches in the Binocular Vision, Sports Vision, Acquired Brain Injury and Vision Science and Perception courses at Salus. In addition to her teaching duties, Dr. Meiyeppen also works at Magee Rehabilitation Hospital within the Jefferson Hospital Network, where she provides optometric evaluations and treatment for patients after severe brain injury, stroke, and trauma.
Dr. Meiyeppen is active in Salus research, and is currently participating in several multi-center studies examining concussion, amblyopia, strabismus, and myopia control. She serves as the principal investigator for CHAPERONE - our Phase III Clinical trial examining a novel low dose atropine mist for myopia control.
