Coming Soon: New Electronic Health Record System

In an effort to continually provide the highest-quality patient care services, Salus University Health’s three clinical facilities - The Eye Institute (TEI), Pennsylvania Ear Institute (PEI) and Speech-Language Institute (SLI) are transitioning to a new electronic health record (EHR) system beginning in October.

During much of September, doctors, clinicians and staff will be thoroughly trained in this new software, which will enhance the patient experience. The new software will provide a more robust and patient friendly portal, and medical information will be more easily accessible. Through the portal, patients will be able to send messages to their doctors, review their scheduled appointments, pay their bill or invoices online, and request appointments, in addition to viewing their health information in a personal health record they can manage.

According to John Gaal, vice president for Clinical Operations, the new system will be an asset to patients, clients and staff at the University’s three clinical facilities.

“Converting all of the Salus University clinical facilities to NextGen, one of the leading EHRs for multi-specialty medical groups, is definitely taking Salus Health to the next level,” he said.
